The Urban Food Movement (TUFM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit food rescue organization with a mission to end hunger and food waste in Greater Atlanta and in the City of South Fulton. We rescue healthy, nutritious surplus food from supermarkets, distributors, food banks, farmers, and small businesses — and deliver it directly to families, children, seniors, and veterans in need.
This mission is deeply personal. Every food donation comes through the dedication of sisters Kimberly and Stacey Williams. Inspired by caring for their 84‑year‑old mother, Iris, and by noticing the urgent need in their community for rescuing healthy food, they joined forces to create TUFM. Kimberly works full‑time and still spends her off days rescuing and delivering food, while Stacey brings her vision and commitment to building a grassroots movement. Together, they prove that anyone can step up to fight hunger and food waste.
Beyond food rescue, TUFM has built strong partnerships with local farmers, growers, and homesteaders to create a sustainable, community‑centered food network. These collaborations prevent waste while opening doors for education, food justice advocacy, and community engagement. Through workshops on nutrition, meal planning, and sustainability, TUFM empowers residents while supporting those often overlooked — including homebound seniors and underserved individuals.
With no income, ID, or geographic requirements, TUFM is committed to inclusivity, equity, and dignity. Every rescued meal is more than food — it is hope, health, and proof that neighbors can care for one another.
