The Urban Food Movement (TUFM)
The Urban Food Movement (TUFM) is a specialized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to eradicating food insecurity in Metro Atlanta and the City of South Fulton. Unlike traditional food pantries, TUFM operates as a "last-mile" rescue and distribution service, prioritizing high-quality, organic nutrition for those who cannot reach a store.
Core Identity & Mission
TUFM's primary mission is to ensure that "food as medicine" reaches the most vulnerable members of society. They believe that access to healthy, nutrient-dense food is a human right and a critical factor in managing public health.
No Barriers to Entry: TUFM does not require proof of income, identification, or specific geographic requirements to receive aid.
Target Demographics: While open to all, the movement specifically focuses on children (making up nearly half of those served), seniors, and veterans.
Food Rescue: They actively collect surplus organic vegetables, bread, and non-perishables from supermarkets and distributors like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Wayfield Foods, Patel Brothers Indian Marketplace, and Papa Johns.
Hands-On Leadership Model
The organization is unique for its "boots-on-the-ground" leadership, where the executive team personally executes the mission.
Kimberly Williams (Founder/CEO): Personally leads the logistics, including bi-weekly direct deliveries to homebound seniors at high-density housing units like Briarcliff Summit and William Booth Towers.
Stacey Williams (CFO/Planning Commissioner District 5): Bridges the gap between civic leadership and community service. She hosts the monthly food distribution at Burdette Park, leveraging City of South Fulton resources to serve 400–500 individuals in a single day.
